Butter London: Tart with a Heart

I have been avoiding glitter nail polishes for a while now because I'm too lazy to deal with the removal. It's a chore and I'd rather not have to go through it. But when I saw Tart with a Heart, I fell in love with how classy and unusual this polish is.

I have layered this glitter over China Glaze's Fast Track from the recent Hunger Games collection. Although this glitter is gorgeous, it does apply a bit thin so putting it over Fast Track allowed me to achieve the desired glitter density in only two coats. I think this will be one of my favorite combos all year around since it's neutral but attention grabbing. I had several people compliment my nails whenever they had the chance to catch a glimpse of them.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure: Parrot

It's not quite summer yet in San Francisco, what with the fog and wind we've had. So far we had only two or three days of very warm weather and that was that. Of course that didn't stop me from wanting bright nail polish.

Dolly Wink: Naturally Dolly False Lashes

I've been wanting to use false lashes for a while now, but the ones I can get at my drugstore are actually too overwhelming for my eyes I feel. The lashes can also be too long for my eyes as well. So I've been turning to Asian brands to see what's available.

This was $17.99 at Sune which makes each set about $9 dollars. Definitely pricey for some lashes, but I really liked how they looked. The set comes with a little Dolly Wink lash glue, which I haven't tried. I may one day, but I wanted to work with the lashes using Duo since I know it doesn't cause any allergic reactions for me. Also, on the back you get an example of what the lashes would like on the model's eyes as you can see below. This was really helpful when I was trying to decide which lashes from Dolly Wink I wanted to purchase.

Pink Spring Nails!

This weekend happens to be the Cherry Blossom Festival and I was recently at Japantown which had all the cherry blossom trees in full bloom. So I was feeling like having more pink nails! Plus, I recently received my federal tax refund and splurged a bit on Butter London nail polishes and wanted to incorporate that too.

For the base color, I used Island Coral from Sinful Colors. It's a lovely coral pink creme polish that I have been loving for this spring. I then used Pa Nail Collective polish in Macaroon Orange or A129 as it's identified on the bottle itself, on top to create a pretty silvery shimmer. This polish is so sheer that it can only be used for layering, which is a bummer, but at least it's made my Island Coral even more awesome! Then I used Butter London's Tart with a Heart on my ring fingers.

Lioele Nail Color: #6 Peach Pink & #28 Modern Mint

I've recently decided I kind of like the candy color trend that is cropping up. It's fun and gives my mood a happy boost. So I couldn't help but be attracted to these polishes at Sune, a shop that carries Asian beauty and skincare products.

Lioele is a Korean beauty brand that offers both cosmetics and skincare all in rather cute princess like packaging. These polishes are sold at Sune for $6.50 each and there was a lot of color variety to choose from. I was first attracted to the teal turquoise type of shade first, which is curiously named Modern Mint. I certainly don't see this color as any type of mint at all. I'm also on a pink kick it seems to because I had to have Peach Pink although I recently picked up a nice pinky coral polish already. The name for this one really describes it perfectly. There's just a touch of orange in this shade and you'll see that in the photos coming up.

Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment: Passion

Ever since receiving my deluxe samples of Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment from Sephora, I have been loving them over my other lip balms. I basically just keep one in my purse at all times, so when I ran out of my mini Rose balm, I was quite happy to get my new one as a nice gift from my brother. I think he felt sorry for me since I had like the last bit of my mini literally break as I was applying it and squish on my lips.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Fresh & Hydrating Cream Compact

I've been in possession of this foundation since the middle of March but I've been down with such a severe cold that I really had no motivation to do my makeup. Then my skin decided that it was going to break out horribly at the same time so I was also concentrating more on skincare. I'm at least functional now and my skin has calmed down so it was time to finally test out my new Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua compact!

With the compact you also receive a velor pouch to put  your compact in, but I don't find that to be as useful and sometimes it ends up just being cumbersome. Moreover, the pouch attracts lint like nobody's business and that definitely doesn't look appealing at all. The compact itself comes with a basic white sponge that sits on top of the lid inside that keeps the foundation from drying out. There's also your standard mirror attached to the lid. The packaging also looks rather simple but very sleek and the white Chanel logo is very apparent against the black case, so I can imagine that this compact would be quite the statement accessory as you pull it out of your purse.
